International Textile Summer School visits Vitrulan

Marktschorgast, 25 July 2018 – The “International Textile Summer School”, which was organized by Campus Münchberg of the Hof University of Applied Sciences in July 2018, offered international students an opportunity to expand their knowledge of technical textiles, innovative textile finishing and sustainable textile management. The 29 participants came from India, Thailand, China and Pakistan and are studying at traditional textile industry universities of applied sciences there. Since they are interested in sustainable technical textile concepts and wanted to learn more about production in a modern textile company, the Vitrulan Group welcomed the students and their companions from the Hof University of Applied Sciences to visit the Marktschorgast plant on 25 July 2018.

The Vitrulan Group has two locations and produces premium quality, innovative glass fabric wall coverings in Marktschorgast. Technical textiles and tailor-made solutions for a wide range of applications are manufactured at its sister plant in Haselbach (Sonneberg). These are the ideal prerequisites for addressing the students’ areas of interest and answering their questions.

Following a company presentation that introduced Vitrulan products and after receiving flyers and samples, the students were given a tour of the plant and production. Vitrulan explained its systems and processes and used hands-on examples to show how a simple thread of glass fiber is transformed into a highly functional wall covering made of glass fiber.

The students’ visit culminated in a question and answer session during which participants were able to round out their knowledge. The conversations that followed clearly showed the intense interest in Vitrulan’s technology and manufacturing methods.

After that it was back to the Campus – with many new, positive impressions.
