The Baltic Cliff is a modern, comfortable four-star apartment hotel in Poland. Situated just 300 meters from the Baltic Sea, the ‘Cliff’ in its name is well deserved. “Featuring contemporary architecture and unique styling, Baltic Cliff Apartments SPA & Wellness provides the perfect holiday setting. The whole place looks magical when lit up at night. [...]. All rooms are individually designed and well equipped with luxury fixtures and fittings,” explains owner and manager Mr. Tokarski in response to the question of what makes his hotel stand out from the others.

Initial situation: Only the best for the walls!

The brief was to reflect ‘luxury’, 'modernity' and 'individuality’ not just with the fixtures and fittings, but the decorative finish on the walls of hotel too. Ultimately, it was decided to wallpaper around 8500 m² of wall and ceiling in the new building complex, which comprises 90 apartments spread over four floors, as well as a Spa & Wellness Centre, restaurants, bars and lobbies. Initially, the intention was to use conventional glass fiber or vinyl wall coverings which are pasted on using wallpaper adhesive in a laborious process. However, as is so often the case in the construction industry, here too there was a tight schedule with strict deadlines which made this time-consuming application method unfeasible.

Solution: SYSTEXX glass fiber wall coverings from Vitrulan

Like virtually all SYSTEXX glass fiber wall coverings, the system used in the hotel is based on Aqua technology. The back of the wall covering is precoated with adhesive which simply needs activating with water. This means that there is no need to apply adhesive to the wall coverings at all, reducing labor time by 30% to 40%.

Premium Teherani 072 (now named SYSTEXX Phantasy Diamond Dust 072) and SYSTEXX Premium Teherani 077 (now named SYSTEXX Phantasy Icecubes 077) are two of the glass fiber wall coverings used in the hotel. They are part of a range of six exclusive textured wall coverings developed by multi-award-winning architect Hadi Teherani – famous for the “Dancing Towers” in Hamburg and the “Crane Houses” in Cologne, amongst other things.

SYSTEXX Active Logo L65 was also used, in addition to these two striking textured wall coverings. This is a glass fiber wall covering that can be customized with a corporate logo, for instance. Thanks to the special Jacquard weave technology, it is possible to incorporate almost any type of image and logo, including non-geometric shapes.

Result: Pleasing individuality

The expressive woven texture of SYSTEXX Premium Teherani 072 (now named SYSTEXX Phantasy Diamond Dust 072) and 077 (now named SYSTEXX Phantasy Icecubes 077) give the walls a three-dimensional feel. When used in combination with the fully customizable SYSTEXX Active Logo L65, it is possible to continue the hotel's theme on the walls.

The special, unique weave pattern together with the outstanding properties of SYSTEXX wall coverings were a winning combination. Mrs. Tokarski, wife of the owner/manager, was thrilled with the results: “We have the best, most beautiful wall coverings in the world.”
